Spring Yard Cleanup for Your Baltimore County, MD Lawn and Landscape
Spring’s around the corner. Your lawn, flowerbeds, and landscaped areas are slowly waking up from their winter slumber.
And that means you need to make your appointment with your Baltimore County, MD lawn care service for spring yard cleanup.
Why Spring Cleanups Are Important
After winter, the ground is wet from snow melting or constant rain. You probably have seen weeds popping up in areas of your yard that get a lot of afternoon sun. Winter storms left behind branches, pinecones, trash, and leftover leaves.
Your lawn and landscaped areas need to breathe as well as to dry out. The best way to accomplish both of these tasks involves a team of lawn care technicians who’ll leave your property looking fresh.
At Ground Control Lawn Care, our teams pick up lawn debris as well as clean out your flowerbeds of stalks, leaves, and trash. We also offer weekly mowing services from early spring through late fall.
Lawn and Landscape Spring Cleanup
When our crews come to your Dundalk or Edgemere, MD property, we do a full yard cleanup. On the day we worked on your property, you’ll notice a clean lawn and freshly mulched flowerbeds when you get home after work.
Here are the spring cleanup services we provide for our Baltimore County customers:
- It’s time to add a fresh layer of mulch to your flowerbeds, tree rings, and other landscaped areas. At Ground Control, we always clean out your landscaped areas first as well as pull any weeds. Then, we apply a fresh application of mulch that suppresses weeds before they sprout, protects plant roots from cold, frosty nights, and keeps moisture in the soil. And we won’t build a volcano at the base of your trees. Instead, we apply the mulch level to the base of your trees so insects won’t harm your woody plants, and rot won’t form.
- It’s time to reseed those bald spots on your lawn. Got bare patches where grass won’t grow? Then, we’ll reseed or re-sod, depending on your preference, those bare areas. At Ground Control, we prepare the soil for seed, plant the seed, and rake in the seed to make sure it makes contact with the soil. And then, we cover it with mulch. If you need us to re-sod a bald spot, we can do that for you too. Again, we’ll prepare the soil, lay down the sod so the roots make good contact with the soil, and then tamp down the edges.
- It’s time for the first mow of the season. Granted, we may not do all of these jobs at one time because the ground needs to dry out before we mow. However, we start mowing as soon as the grass reaches 3” – 4” and the soil dries out. We tend to wait to mow sod lawns until they’re anchored into the soil, and all water has drained from your yard.
- It’s time to trim your hedges and shrubs. Early spring is the perfect time to trim shrubs because we can see which branches need to go and what needs to stay. We’ll also prune your hedges, so there’s no growth coming out on the side of your hedges.
